About David

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness! These words inspire us to look forward to a bright future, something we can count on as we move through life.

But what happens when the life we hoped for starts to slip away? When our relationship as a couple or family starts to go sour, when our careers falter, or when we can’t shake off the effects of painful experiences?

As a clinical mental health professional, I have yet to meet the person who is not full of talent and potential. Each of us has something important to contribute to the world. Those qualities are often what attracted us to our partners. Sometimes, all we need is a way to rediscover the unique qualities, drives and passions that make us who we are. Repair, restoration and healing often naturally follow these insights.

In summary, if you are seeking help: (1) overcoming challenges as a couple or family, (2) building a better future, particularly in your career, or (3) coming to terms with painful memories so you can move on, I look forward to working with you to help you meet those goals.

My approach to counseling draws heavily from Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I believe that in general people have the resources within themselves to address many of their challenges, and simply need the benefit of an outside party to explore and uncover those abilities. At the same time, I believe it is important to gain an understanding of one’s past experience, including upbringing and significant relationships. This helps uncover patterns of behavior and communication that can be useful in addressing current challenges.
